This can vary, however any boiler over the age of 12 years will be classed as inefficient.

There are many factors that will decide whether your boiler needs replacing. It may be the frequency of breakdowns, and the inevitable cost of this. Similarly, age is an important factor as older boilers can be unreliable and costly to run.

Gillies Heating will give you honest advice as to whether it is cost effective to repair your boiler or whether it is more sensible to replace your old boiler. Older boilers tend to be inefficient and costly to run. Boiler efficiency can significantly affect your heating bills; therefore, you must weigh up the cost of repair (labour and materials) in addition to the actual running of older models in comparison to the cost of a new boiler. Replacing a boiler that is 15-20 years old with a new ‘A’ rated boiler can reduce your gas bills by an average of 20-30%.heating system with gas and electric. Whatever is best for you and your home.

There are many boilers on the market and some brands are more expensive than others. Gillies Heating has a wide knowledge and experience of a range of brands and boiler models. To help you make up your mind we can give you 2 or 3 price options. There is no hard sell. We usually offer fixed price boilers on our website. This is for a standard boiler swap and terms and conditions apply.

We use leading manufacturers such as Worcester Bosch, Valliant, Baxi, Potteron, Vokera and Ideal.

However, if there is another brand that you wish us to install, we can also provide advice on that
too.

All new boilers come with FREE warranties, which takes the worry out of costly repairs. Warranties can range from 5 – 10 years depending on the boiler chosen.

Yes – we carry out this work on every boiler installation where the existing radiators and pipework are retained. We can do this by using chemical and/or the use of a ‘power flushing’ machine.

Yes – we fit magnetic filters on every new boiler installation. This means that your new boiler will not become chocked with sludge. These filters are usually cleaned annually during the service visit. Filters tend to last the lifetime of the boiler. When filters are fitted to new boilers most boiler manufacturers give extended warranties.

On acceptance of our quote, we will advise you what you require to do. We are always happy to help, and good customer service is important to us. We may ask you clear the cupboard under your sink or help us locate your drain, however the hard work will be done by our engineers.

A straightforward boiler replacement can be done within 4-5 hours. You will be able to use the toilet during the installation; however, the water may be off for an hour or so.

Our engineers will check all the radiators are heating correctly and explain the operation of your new boiler. Our team will also take away your old boiler. The surveyor will also contact you to ensure that you are fully satisfied with the installation. The warranty registration will be done by us.
